Privacy Policy

This page says what the request form on this site collects, why each field is there, where it goes afterwards, and how long it is kept. It describes this site only. A contractor you are introduced to holds their own records under their own policy.

What the form collects

The form asks for your name, your phone number, your email address, the street address of the property, its city and state, its ZIP code, and a description of what is happening. Before those fields it asks five short multiple choice questions: whether water has got into the building before, what you are looking at now, whether anything is still wet, who can authorize work at the address, and how soon you want it moving. Your answers are sent with the request as readable text, so that the person reading it can tell which licensed trade the job needs before replying to you.

Your name, your phone number, your email address, the property address and its ZIP code are all required. Everything else is optional. The property address is asked on the last step, after the multiple choice questions, because it is the field people least like handing to a stranger and there is no reason to ask for it before we know the request is real.

The form also carries a hidden field that a person never sees and never fills in. If it comes back filled in, the submission is treated as automated spam and discarded.

Why the ZIP code and the address are both required

They do two different jobs. The ZIP code decides which contractors can take the work at all, because mold assessment and mold remediation are licensed activities tied to where the property is, and a request with no location cannot be matched to anybody. The street address decides the rest. In this city what a building has already done changes the job: the City of Yonkers keeps a record of flood damaged properties and the county hazard mitigation plan lists repetitive loss addresses, and both are looked up by address rather than by ZIP code. Matching downstream is by property and not by person. Both fields are mandatory for those reasons and for no other.

The address is never written into our technical logs. Those record only whether an address was supplied, because a street line plus a ZIP code identifies a house and the people living in it.

Where your request goes

A completed request is sent to GoHighLevel, the customer relationship system this business uses to track a job from the first message through to completion. It is the only destination. From there we pass your details to the contractor or contractors we introduce you to.

Because New York requires the mold assessment and the mold removal to be carried out by two separate companies, your details may reach more than one contractor, since the sequence itself requires it. We do not sell your details, we do not trade them, and we do not add you to mailing lists about anything other than the request you sent.

The standing credit

Your request also carries a short code naming the standing offer that was running on the site when you sent it, so the credit can be attached to your job without you having to prove you saw it. It identifies the offer, not you.

How we know where you arrived from

When you land on the site, your browser records the campaign information in the link you followed, if there was any: the source, the medium, the campaign name, the campaign content and the search term, together with the address of the page that linked to you, the first page you landed on, and any advertising click identifier in the address bar. That set is held in your browser's session storage for the length of your visit and is sent with your request if you send one. It records the first thing you touched rather than the last, so a click between our own pages does not overwrite it. It is kept because it tells us which of our own pages actually help people, and it contains nothing about you personally.

Cookies, tags and fonts

These are flat, static pages. This site sets no advertising tag, no analytics tag and no third party pixel at all today, so there is nothing here to consent to and no banner asking you to. If that ever changes, this page changes first and names the tag that was added and what it records.

The page fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's font servers when a page opens. Ordinary web server logs record page requests in the usual way.

How long it is kept

A request is kept for as long as it is useful to the job you asked about and to any follow up from it, then deleted. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will. A contractor you were introduced to keeps their own record on their own terms, so deleting ours does not delete theirs and you should ask them directly as well.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can tell any contractor you are introduced to that you do not want to be contacted again, and that instruction stands on its own whatever you have told us.
